Metal makes for a long lasting material to sculpt with allowing for a simple understanding of abstraction in structure leaving a stubborn plight of texture and almost non existence whimsical effect to be captured..

This owl is the first of a series and made from parts of a vegetable steamer. I had one in my kitchen became fixated on its perforated holes allowing light to pass through and loved itsreally palpable nature easily allowing me to hand mold, bend, distort into a sculpture solely held together with tiny nuts and bolts.

Materials: Stainless steel, tiny nut and bolts.

This piece is not a stand up sculpture it is actually suspended in air as if truly taking flight.

Times of despair, all should reflect and look toward the light. This series originally started off about current events and the Middle East, but it soon became more positive. Not about religion or violence, but as a healing piece. This piece is made of glass and metal and no matter where in the room when the lights reflects off it  does it emanate like a beacon.

This piece was created as balance a Ying and Yang. One side to severe ties allowing words be freely spoken and one to be tucked away hidden in silence. Not a piece of violence, but a representation of freedom of speech or dormant in silence yet in both states its of beauty as even though we may silence our words publicly we never silence our inner spirit and always challenge ourselves by expression.
